Made in Sanjo, Niigata – Japan. The manufacturer is Mr. Shige, a blacksmith in Sanjo.

The scissors are suitable for small trees, branches, and new shoots. It is in a slightly smaller size than other Okubo scissors, making it suitable for those with smaller hands. It can also be used for Ikebana, herb gardens, and other plant-related applications.

It has excellent sharpness, but like all good tools, it needs maintenance. Resin needs to be wiped or sometimes washed away. Afterward, it should be dried thoroughly and preferably lubricated with, for example, camellia oil for rust protection and lubrication.
