Hand-forged jin pliers, bonsai pliers for wire winding but also for processing jin/deadwood. The rounded tip reduces the risk of damaging the bark when working with your bonsai. The grip area is shaped to provide excellent grip when removing wire from a wound tree.
The pliers are crafted by the Japanese company Wazakura, located in Sanjo, Niigata Prefecture on the island of Honshu in Japan. The pliers are hot-forged by hand in carbon steel in the traditional Japanese way. The tip is not pressed but forged through stretching, resulting in a more refined steel with less crystallization and therefore more durable.
Like all good tools, it needs maintenance. Sap needs to be wiped off or sometimes washed away. Then it should be thoroughly dried and preferably lubricated with, for example, camellia oil for rust protection and lubrication.
