A beginner’s kit, a starter set with bonsai tools for those who want that extra touch in design and quality. The tools are crafted by Japanese blacksmiths at Wazakura, a Japanese forge located in Fukuoka, Japan.

The shear is hand-forged in carbon steel in the traditional Japanese way. It has good sharpness, but like all good tools, it needs maintenance. Sap needs to be wiped off or sometimes washed away. Then it should be thoroughly dried and preferably lubricated with, for example, camellia oil for rust protection and lubrication.

The tweezer and rake combination is a classic solution for working with the root system and keeping the tree clean.

In addition, there is a beautifully bound brush made of Chinese windmill palm to sweep away leaves and other debris that have fallen onto the soil.
