Cecilia Boivie
Cecilia Boivie has been a practicing ceramic artist in Faringe, just outside Uppsala, since 1989. In her ceramics workshop, she crafts items entirely by hand, either on the potter’s wheel or through handbuilding and sculpting. Her small-scale production, where each item is created with care, includes both functional objects and some sculptures.
Working with stoneware, known for its durability and ability to withstand freezing temperatures, Cecilia primarily focuses on crafting pots and items for gardens. Stoneware is a natural choice as she can high-fire it. All glazes and decorative colors are developed by Cecilia herself, allowing her to control the artistic expression she aims for.
