Japanese hand-forged garden scissors/bonsai scissors/azalea scissors. This is a robust pair of scissors with long straight handles. Perfect for Ikebana, cut flowers, roses, twigs, etc. The length provides good leverage while the pointed blades allow you to reach deep into the crown. Trim small twigs and buds with the tips, while using the inner part of the blade for thicker twigs up to a few millimeters.
The scissors are hand-forged in carbon steel in the traditional Japanese way in Niigata, Japan. They provide clean cuts that heal more effectively since the scissors do not fray the surface and invite fungal or viral attacks.
They have very good sharpness but like all good tools, they need maintenance. Resin needs to be wiped or sometimes washed off. Then they should be dried carefully and preferably lubricated with, for example, camellia oil which protects against rust and lubricates the scissors.
